Welcome
to St Mary’s Church, Sholing
Hi there - and a very warm welcome to St Mary’s!
Whether you’ve lived in Sholing all your life or have just moved to the area, I want you to know this: if you live in the parish, this is your church. We’re here for you.
I’m Garry, the Vicar here at St Mary’s. I’m passionate about building a church that’s open, inclusive, and deeply connected to the life of our community. You don’t have to have it all together, believe all the right things, or even know where to start—just come as you are.
Since 1865, St Mary’s has been a place where people gather to worship, find hope, ask big questions, and walk alongside one another. We’re a growing and diverse church family, united by our desire to follow Jesus and make his love known in real, practical ways.
Our vision is simple: To BE with Jesus, to BECOME like Jesus, and to DO what Jesus did.
That means loving God, loving our neighbours, and serving our local community with joy and compassion.
Take a look around the site, and if you’re curious, why not join us one Sunday or pop along to one of our community events? I’d love to meet you.
With every blessing,
Revd Garry Roberts
Vicar of St Mary’s, Sholing
AT THE HEART OF THE SHOLING COMMUNITY
There’s always something happening at St Mary’s Church and Sholing Parish Hall. From Sunday worship to regular weekly activities, our church is a vibrant hub for people of all ages. Here’s a quick overview—more details can be found throughout our website.
SUPPORT OUR CHURCH & COMMUNITY
As a parish church, we receive no regular income to run, maintain our beautiful building, or host the many events and activities we offer to our local community. Everything we do is made possible by the generosity of individuals and the occasional grant we apply for.
If you’re able to support us with a donation, however large or small, it makes a real difference. Thank you for helping to keep our church at the heart of the community.
SAFEGUARDING
We are committed to the safeguarding, care and nurture of everyone in our church and we take these areas of responsibility very seriously. If you have any concerns, please use the details and information below. Download our safeguarding policy here. Contact our Safeguarding Officer by email here.
