Thought for the week from Ben Scorer

Last weekend, I was blessed to be asked to return to the Isle of Wight Festival with the Street Pastors. During the seemingly endless footsteps we undertook over the weekend (approximately ninety thousand), I was reminded of how spiritually curious people truly are. In the midst of the music, lights and crowds, many paused to ask thoughtful questions about faith. These weren’t just polite chats, but were often deeply honest and searching questions, sometimes from festivalgoers but mainly from other staff / volunteers working long hours throughout the day and night. One moment especially stayed with me - We asked a young student what their next steps would be after university. With quiet confidence, they said, “I will go wherever God takes me.” It was a profound reminder that faith is not always loud, but it is bold. That statement got us thinking: how open are we to saying the same? What would it look like if we all trusted God with that kind of surrender?

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11.
