Pew News - 9 Nov 2025

This Sunday we will gather in church for our annual Remembrance Service, joining with people across the nation to honour those who gave their lives in the cause of freedom, justice, and peace. As we pause in silence and prayer, we remember with gratitude the courage and sacrifice of so many — men and women who laid down their lives so that others might live in peace.

As followers of Christ, we hold this act of remembrance in the light of our faith. We recall the words of Jesus: “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down their life for their friends” (John 15:13). In remembering the cost of war, we also look with hope to the promise of God’s kingdom — a kingdom of peace, reconciliation, and new life.
