Pew News - 24 May 2026

We are looking for people to prepare a short introduction to Pew News during June. If you would like to share something with our church family, please email Bev on office@sholing.church

MEET THE NEW PCC

Following our APCM on Monday evening, we are delighted to welcome four newly elected PCC members: Michele Adams, Pete Fraser, Kirsty Harris and Ann MacFarlane. We are also pleased that Sue Clarke has been re-elected to continue serving on the PCC. Please keep them all in your prayers as they take on these important roles in the life of our church.

We are deeply grateful for all those who choose not simply to consume church life, but to participate in it. Being part of a church is not about what we receive alone, but about each of us playing our part in helping the church flourish and bear fruit for the good of others and the glory of God.

As many of you will already be aware, Ben has stepped down as Treasurer and from the PCC.

We would like to thank him for all he has contributed during his time serving in these roles.

During this transition period, if any members of the church feel they may have gifts or experience that could help support the church with financial matters, please do speak to Joyce.

THIS WEEK PLEASE PRAY FOR:

Chris A, Kevin, Sally A, Michelle R, Anna B, Sam C, Hilary & Chris L, Tyler, Jake C, Ann J, Cathy E

The prayer team continues to pray for all who have requested prayer.

To request prayer: Email: prayer@sholing.church

REMEMBERING

Gill, praying for Mandy, Elana, Dale, Lewis, family and friends

Sheila, praying for Clive, Christine, Georgina, grandchildren Marie, Edward, great grandchildren and great, great granddaughter.

THANK YOU - PRAYERS ANSWERED

Since the end of January we have been praying for Nick, a Grandad who was seriously ill and for whom there seemed little hope of recovery. He spent sixteen weeks in hospital, eventually leaving there very weak, and began the long journey of recovery. Last week he managed to walk outside and is growing in strength. Nick and his family want to thank everyone who has prayed for him.

CALL FOR ADULT SHIRTS/T-SHIRTS

Do you have any large used adult/teen shirts/plain t-shirts/ dressing gown/striped or checked tea towels that we could adapt for Bible characters for primary aged children? Please speak to Su Brakewell or email su@sholing.church

SUMMER FETE

Sat 27 June 10am-3pm

Apologies for the lack of information regarding this year’s joint Summer Fete with St Monica School.

Bev is currently liaising with the school and is trying to establish how much space will be available for church member stalls. She will update everyone as soon as she has heard back from the school.

Thank you for your patience.
